This is a Victorian villa that has been recently restored to reflect a more gentler bygone age by its owners. No expense has been spared when renovating the large spacious rooms to bring them up to standard. High ceilings and large windows mean that the rooms are flooded with natural light, and large comfy sofas in the sitting room are perfect for relaxing on after a busy day exploring Edinburgh or hiking up Arthur’s Seat, views of which can be seen from some of the windows.

The beauty of the property begins once you enter through the large front door, Victorian tiles on the floor and a stunningly beautiful etched window, popular with the Victorian upper and middle classes in the inner door leads you through into the large hallway and whereupon wide stone stairs lead up to the first floor.

The villa comprises of three large bedrooms, a traditional kitchen, sitting room and a bathroom that is a joy to be in . In each of the bedrooms there is a very comfortable bed, shutters on the windows and plenty of space to move around in. The bathroom has beautiful white tiled walls, a traditional Victorian wash basin and an extra large walk in shower unit with a rain head shower head. Clean and bright the large window allows the room to flood with natural light, perfect for ladies when putting makeup on.

The property is full of interesting artwork, some by local artists and some with history behind the art. Each room is a feast for those who are interested in history with many original features and quirky interiors. For those who want to relax with their friends and family, there are plenty of books and games to while away the evening.

The town of Portobello is just a few minutes walk away with its eclectic shops and coffee houses and of course the jewel in the crown of this area is the 2 mile sandy beach within walking distance that a magnet for locals and tourists alike.

There is a supermarket within walking distance and regular buses run into Edinburgh from close to the villa.

The renowned Sheep Heid (Edinburgh’s oldest public house), located by Arthur’s Seat and Holyrood Park, is within walking distance, as is Portobello beach and trendy gastropubs such as the Skylark and Foresters Arms or The Dalriada, overlooking the Firth of Forth.
